Principal's Message

Lancer Families,

We are very excited to welcome our students back to Amherst County High School for the start of the 2024-2025 school year!  I am looking forward to seeing the continued growth of our students this year.  We are blessed in Amherst County to have so many talented students and each one brings so much to our school community.  The 2023-2024 school year saw its highs and lows throughout the year.  We saw some great accomplishments by our staff and students and continued to show great growth in all areas.  We also were stricken with grief at the passing of two of our beloved staff members, Ms. Kathy Stone and Mr. John Andrew Fister.  No matter the situation, our school community stood strong and persevered.  The amount of Lancer Pride that our students and staff showed was amazing to see.  I know that the 2024-2025 school year will no doubt bring its challenges, but I know that there will be many reasons to celebrate.  I encourage each of you to be consistent in contacting teachers and staff members in order to be an active participant in your child’s education.  We are all here for one reason:  to support our students.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us so that we can assist you and your family.  Our greatest tool is communication, and I have found that typically, a phone call conversation can solve many issues. There will be several changes this year at ACHS.  Within this newsletter, you will find updates on the new cell phone regulation, construction, and more.   I want to thank each of you for trusting us to provide your child with a great education.  I hope to see you all at our Open House on August 8th from 1:00-7:00 pm.  Best of luck to all students and families as we open the new school year!

Lancer Pride!
