Ms. Nogueras

Nogueras Itzel Nogueras was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and grew up in Central Florida. She began her college career at the University of Central Florida before transferring to Liberty University. Itzel earned her Bachelor's degree in Special Education with a minor in Youth Ministry. She earned her Master's in Administration and Supervision, an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, and is currently working on her Ed.D. degree at Liberty University. She is licensed to teach Elementary (K-6), Special Education (K-12), Spanish (K-12), and Administration.

Itzel student taught at Amherst County High School with Mr. Maddox and Mr. Lockhart in 2018. During her student teaching semester, she was selected as a Teacher of Promise. She started her career as a Spanish teacher at Heritage High School, where she received the Lynchburg Living Top Teacher award in 2020. Prior to joining the ACHS admin team, she worked as the summer school principal at Sheffield Elementary School. Itzel started working at ACHS in 2022 as the Dean of Students before stepping into her role as Assistant Principal. She loves her job and enjoys getting to know everyone in Amherst, supporting teachers, and helping students be successful.
