ACPS Literacy Links

Check out the Quarter 3 edition of the APCS Literacy Links, Math Moments, and Language Lens Newsletters! In this edition for literacy, we are spotlighting activities and games to support boosting reading skills as a family. Our math newsletter offers fun, hands-on ways to learn more about measurement through everyday activities.These newsletters, as well as other resources to support your child's literacy and math development, are available on our ACPS webpage under "Parent and Family Literacy Links." 


ACHS Day of Giving

ACHS is sponsoring the 2025 Day of Giving on Friday, April 11, 2025. 

  • Students have the opportunity to volunteer at various community organizations, Amherst County Parks and Recreation sites, the county elementary and middle schools, and at the high school.
  • Students will be chaperoned by ACPS faculty and staff. 
  • Transportation to and from the service locations will be provided by the ACPS transportation department
  • Students will be transported to their service sites between 9:00-9:30am and will return to the high school between 2:00- 2:30pm.   
  • Students may pack a lunch or a bag lunch can be provided by the cafeteria staff.  Those students volunteering at one of our elementary or middle schools will have the option of eating lunch in the cafeteria of the respective school.

After School Tutoring

English, Math, Science, & History - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Spanish - Tuesdays only

3:00 - 5:00 pm
ACHS Library

Students must bring work with them to do in tutoring.
Activity bus is available
A snack will be provided


School Counseling

School counselors are available during these hours (8:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday-Friday).  School counselors, VCAC college adviser and career coach will be checking these requests periodically throughout the day.
