SOL Testing dates start Wed., May 7

Earth Science SOL is Monday, May 12 - students can do Extra Credit SOL practice tests up to May 12 to improve their grade and help their SOL score!!

Class schedules are subject to change depending upon student comprehension of presented subjects, time constraints, school delays or closing.

 Proposed Schedule for week of April 7

 Plate Tectonics (red book = Ch10, blue book = Ch 10 & 11):  ES SOLs 1,2,7

Objectives:  To understand tectonic plate movement.  To be able to identify & explain the various features that form because of tectonic plate movement.

This is the planned schedule of chapters for this school year; however there may be some modification as the year progresses to accommodate snow days, additional time for student understanding of difficult concepts, etc.  

1st 9 weeks:   Chapters 1 & 2, then 19 – 22 (in this order)  (Red book - chapters 1,15,16,17)

                        Progress reports will be sent home Sept. 11-13

                        9 week assessment Oct. 9-10

                        Report cards will be sent home Oct. 18

 

2nd 9 weeks:   Chapters 26 -30, then 5  (Red book - chapters 22,23,24,25)

                        Progress reports will be sent home Nov. 13-15

                        9 week assessment Dec. 10-11

                        Report cards will be sent home Jan. 6, 2014

 

3rd 9 weeks:   Chapters 6, 7, 3, then 14 - 18  (Red book - chapters 3,4,5,6,7,8)

                        Progress reports will be sent home Feb. 5-7

                        9 week assessment Mar. 5-6

                        Report cards will be sent home Mar. 14

 

4th 9 weeks:   Chapters 8 – 13, finish with 23 - 25  (Red book - chapters 9,10,11,12, 13,14, 18, 19)

                        Progress reports will be sent out from April 23-25

                        SOL testing starts May 6 – 16 (9 week test will be based on the SOL score)

                        Report cards will be distributed May 30
