Day of Giving
March 29, 2024

Amherst County High School is sponsoring a community service opportunity for our students on Friday, March 29, 2024.  We are calling this event the "Day of Giving" in which the school and our students can give back to the Amherst community.  Students will be given the opportunity to volunteer at various community organizations, Amherst County Parks and Recreation sites, the county elementary and middle schools, and at the high school. Students will be chaperoned by ACPS faculty and staff.  Transportation to and from the service locations will be provided by the ACPS transportation department, and we will will follow normal arrival and departure times.  Students will be transported to their service sites between 9:00-9:30am and will return to the high school between 2:00- 2:30pm.   Students may pack a lunch or a bag lunch can be provided by the cafeteria staff.  Those students volunteering at one of our elementary or middle schools will have the option of eating lunch in the cafeteria of the respective school.

This event is a major undertaking and we have opportunities for the majority of our students to participate.  We are asking for your permission to allow your student to participate in our "Day of Giving."

PLEASE complete this form by March 1, 2024 if you give permission for your student to participate in "Day of Giving".  If you would like a hard copy of the permission form, copies are available in the main office at ACHS.
