The Parent Volunteer Organization would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents of students here at ACHS!
Our Mission Statement:
“Amherst County High School’s Parent Volunteer Organization supports teachers and students to reach their highest academic potential.”
When enrolling your child at ACHS, we invite and encourage you to become a member of the PVO. The PVO consists of parents, guardians, and members of the community who wish to take an active role in improving their student’s educational experience.
We support several events during the school year ranging from an annual Thanksgiving Appreciation Luncheon that takes place in November to the annual “Reality Store” simulation for our seniors, which gives them the opportunity to experience the truth of what it takes to support themselves in the real world.
Fundraising by either encouraging monetary donations or supplying needed items is another component of what we do. Our funds are always focused towards our mission statement and all purchases are thoughtfully considered as to their importance and impact they will have for the students and teachers.
The framework of supporting our faculty is continually on our minds. By supporting our teachers, we promote education. By promoting better communication to parents and students, we give them the ability to make better decisions about their education and future.
The PVO encourages anyone interested in supporting the educational experience of the students and teachers of ACHS to join.
Donations are always welcome and are thoughtfully utilized for the advancement of the student’s education at ACHS. All monetary donations are tax deductible. Checks should be written to ACHS and given to the front office or mailed to: 139 Lancer Lane Amherst, VA 24521.
