United States and Virginia Government

This course will begin with a focus on the early influences on American government and progress through the structure and components of the federal government before concluding with a discussion of both state and local forms of government. The overall goal of the class is to help students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will facilitate an active and responsible role as American citizens. The course will be divided into four grading periods of about nine weeks each. Students will complete an assessment at the end of each grading period and a final exam at the end of the school year. Every effort will be made to ensure that each student successfully completes the course and is prepared for graduation in May of 2020!
