Seniors:

  • FAFSA season begins October 1, 2016.  Students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017-18 school year.  Visit StudentAid.gov/fafsa to find out how to fill out the FAFSA and create your FSA ID.

The Amherst County Lions Club will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to one female and one male high school senior who resides in Amherst County. Applicants can be private, public, or home-school students and plan to continue their education at a two or four-year college, trade school, or apprenticeship program.  Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and submit two letters of recommendation.  Amherst County High School seniors may pick up the application in the school counseling office.  Completed applications must be turned in to the student's school counselor by April 3, 2017.

 

Granville P. Meade Scholarship ($2,000 per year for four years) provides financial assistance to students how have achieved academically but who are financially unable to attend college.  This scholarship is for Virginia High School Seniors who plan to attend one of the Virginia's public or private colleges/universities.  Completed applications are due to your counselor: March 16, 2017

 

If you are a young woman in the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade with an interest in computer science, you should consider attending Sweet Briar College's Computer Science Weekend, April 7-8.  The focus of the weekend will be computational biology - the use of computer science to analize and understand information about life.  Computer programming skills are NOT required.  If you would like to know more, please see your school counselor by March 14th.   (There is one scholarship for this event available.)

 

  • CVCC Fall 2017 Enrollment Open House will be Thursday, March 30, beginning at 5:30pm - 8:00 pm.  Merritt Hall rooms 5122 abd 5125.
